What Is Covered?
Our warranty covers faults resulting from manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship that occur during normal use.
Examples of issues that may be covered include:
- Manufacturing defects affecting the movement.
- Timekeeping faults caused by manufacturing defects.
- Crown or push button failures resulting from manufacturing defects.
- Hands or internal components becoming detached due to manufacturing faults.
- Defects in materials or workmanship affecting the normal operation of the watch.
- Premature failure of internal components caused by manufacturing defects.
All warranty claims are subject to inspection to confirm that the fault is the result of a manufacturing defect.
Manufacturing Defects Explained
A manufacturing defect is a fault that arises because of an issue during the design, manufacture, assembly or quality control of the watch, rather than through normal use or accidental damage.
Examples may include:
- A movement that stops functioning during normal use.
- A crown or push button failing due to an internal manufacturing fault.
- Watch hands becoming detached without impact or misuse.
- Internal components failing prematurely due to defects in materials or workmanship.
Not every fault is automatically considered a manufacturing defect. Each claim is assessed individually based on the nature of the issue and the condition of the watch.
What Is Not Covered?
Our warranty does not cover:
- Accidental damage
- Impact damage
- Cracked, chipped or broken crystal or glass.
- Scratches, dents or cosmetic damage.
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect or improper storage.
- Water ingress resulting from misuse, accidental damage, deterioration of seals or use beyond the watch's recommended water resistance rating.
- Damage resulting from unauthorised servicing, repairs or modifications.
- Normal wear and tear
- Wear to straps, bracelets, clasps or buckles through everyday use.
- Battery depletion through normal use
- Damage to decorative stones, crystals or embellishments resulting from impact or accidental damage.
Water Resistance
Water resistance ratings are determined by manufacturers under controlled laboratory testing conditions and should be regarded as guidance only.
Over time, seals and gaskets naturally deteriorate through age and normal use, reducing a watch's resistance to water.
Exposure to hot water, steam, soaps, detergents, chemicals, impact or operation outside the recommended water resistance rating may result in water ingress.
For these reasons, water damage is not covered under this warranty.
Please refer to our Water Resistance Guide for further information regarding water resistance ratings and recommended usage.
Quartz Watches & Batteries
Quartz watches are powered by batteries that naturally deplete over time.
Battery life varies depending on the watch model, movement type, storage conditions and usage. As batteries begin discharging from the point of manufacture, the remaining battery life at the time of purchase cannot be guaranteed.
Battery depletion through normal use is considered routine maintenance and is not covered under this warranty.
However, if the battery fails within a reasonable period following delivery and we determine that the battery was likely depleted prior to sale or had an unusually short service life, Fashion Watch Studio may, at its discretion, provide a replacement battery or another appropriate resolution.
